After a recent break from touring, country artist Stoney LaRue is back on the road to spend some quality time with his fans.
LaRue is set to hit the stage at Rockin Rodeo in Denton on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m.
LaRue said in a recent interview with The Lasso, “I’m looking forward to doing what I do best and getting up there and just playing music, I hope everyone leaves their troubles and worries at the door and just go in and have a good time. So everyone can take a little ‘us time.’”
LaRue recently recorded a new album that introduces old songs with a new red dirt music twist. With the release of ‘Us Time’ LaRue set out to record an album that focused on producing an album completely dedicated to his fans.
LaRue shared the idea behind his seventh studio album: “The whole concept of “Us Time” is based off of the fans request that I record songs that I’ve been covering live for years in a studio format.”
His new album features covers of classic songs like Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic” and the duet between Willie Nelson and Ray Charles, “Seven Spanish Angels.”
LaRue said that the connection with his fans is so deep that he sees them as family: “We make each other happy and we make each other sad, but sometimes I don’t even feel like I’m up on a stage. It’s good to be connected to the music, the words and the people.”
