Dallas campus ends semester with ample events

The Dallas campus has a few more events in store for its students, faculty and staff as the Fall semester comes to a close. Before Winter Break, there will be opportunities to learn about faculty research, obtain free legal services, attend a Staff Council Meeting and participate in a lunch and learn workshop on writing specific aims. 

 

Lightning Talks: Discover and Dialogue at TWU   

On Mon., Nov. 28, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will give TWU faculty the opportunity to showcase their research in two-minute talks. The Lightening Talks will take place at IHSD 3514 from 5 to 6 p.m. and there will be opportunities for questions and networking after presentations. Appetizers and beverages will be provided.  

 
Student Legal Services  

On Tue., Nov. 29, free legal services will be provided from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. These services are available to TWU students only, and those interested may schedule appointments through Dallas Student Life

 

Staff Council Meeting  

On Thurs., Dec. 8, a monthly Staff Council Meeting will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at IHSD 8720. All TWU staff is welcome, though seating may be limited. Video documentation of the meeting will be available at the TWU Staff Council website for those unable to attend.  

 

ORSP Lunch & Learn: Writing Competitive Specific Aims that Make Reviewers Take Notice  

Thurs., Dec. 15, a workshop on writing specific aims for grant applications will be available at IHSD 8720 from 12 to 1 p.m. The workshop is open to the public and attendees are invited to bring their lunch. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs will provide beverages and desserts.  

 

Further details are available through the TWU Calendar of Events. The last day of Fall classes is Fri., Dec. 9, and final exams will take place from Sat., Dec. 10 to Thurs., Dec. 15.

    It was indeed an excellent day of events I enjoyed thoroughly. Dialogues were an important aspect of the event and also liked the lunch!
