Blotter: Violent threats made towards student reported to police

Theft of Property (over $2,500 but less than $30,000) was reported on Oct. 8. A student reported a stolen clarinet after leaving the instrument in the Fine Arts Annex. The instrument was entered into the NCIC/TCIC and Leads Online investigation systems in case it turns up anywhere. It was also reported to Denton PD. This case is still under investigation. 

On Oct 10. a student informed police that someone backed into her parked vehicle in the Pioneer parking lot. The student reported black scuff marks on her bumper and around her license plate. The student did not want to press charges, so the case is closed at this time. 

A student informed police that she received information that a group of students were making threats of violence towards her on Oct 13. The student reported that the group said they were looking for her. The case is currently under investigation by police.

Theft of Property ($750 to $2,500 range) was reported on Oct. 14 for a catalytic converter stolen from a TWU Housing van. The van was parked around the 1200 block of Frame St. The part is valued at around $750. The case is currently being investigated. 

Response Activity: TWU’s Department of Public Safety responded to 157 calls for service between Oct. 8 and Oct. 15.
