Blotter: Student threatened for removing another student’s laundry from dryer

North Hall – A harassment report was filed after a student was threatened for taking another student’s clothing out of a dryer in North Hall on Aug. 31 at approximately 8:42 p.m., according to a police report.

A student was doing her laundry and took another student’s laundry out of a dryer and onto a chair after it was complete, due to there not being any dryers available. The student who owned the clothing walked in and noticed her clothing had been removed from the dryer and proceeded to yell at the other student. The student who removed the clothing returned to her dorm room.

Later on, the student heard a knock at her door, and there were two students saying that they were going to fight her. One of the students was the one that found her clothes removed from the dryer. A resident assistant (RA) reported to the campus police who the main suspect is, and the case is still under investigation.

Dallas Campus – A student’s vehicle and backpack were stolen from the Dallas campus on Aug. 31 at approximately 6:20 p.m., according to a police report.

The student put her backpack that was holding her car keys in a locker that was left unlocked during her lab. When the student returned from her lab, both her backpack and her vehicle were stolen. Security footage shows a male and a female suspect leaving with the student’s backpack and driving off with her car.

The suspects have not been found, and the case is still under investigation.

Parliament Village – A male suspect is under investigation for class C assault and a terroristic threat that causes a fear of serious bodily injury in Parliament Village on Aug. 29 at approximately 3 p.m., according to a police report.

An argument took place between two people who are in a relationship. There are no further details.

South Hall – A student’s clothing was reported missing from the South Hall laundry room on Sept. 2 at approximately 12:35 p.m., according to a police report.

The student placed a load of laundry in the third dryer of the laundry room, and she later returned to find another student placing their laundry in the same dryer. The student asked if there were any clothes in the dryer before the other student started placing their laundry in, and they said that the dryer was empty. Campus police are currently trying to obtain footage from the laundry room, and the student wants to press charges if the suspect is located.

Fit n Rec – $180 was stolen from the TWU Fitness and Recreation locker room on Sept. 3 at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to a police report.

A student placed her belongings in an unlocked locker and retrieved her items after her workout. When she returned to her dorm, she noticed that $180 in cash was missing from her bag. There are no suspects at this time, but the student wishes to press charges once the suspect is found.

ACT – A TWU issued laptop and charger were stolen from an employee’s office at the Administration Conference Tower (ACT) on Aug. 29 at approximately 5 p.m., according to a police report.

The stolen items are valued between $100 and $750. There are no current suspects, and the case is still under investigation.

There were 164 calls for service between Aug. 29 and Sept. 8.
