The Lasso staff says goodbye to adviser

As Joseph Alderman, former adviser of The Lasso, begins his new job at the University of North Texas, our staff wanted to share some words on his time here.

Maddie LaRosa-Ray, Editor-in-Chief

In the last two years that I have worked at The Lasso, Joseph has encouraged me greatly in pursuing my passions. He supported me greatly as I transitioned from Managing Editor to Editor-in-Chief and his office has always been open for conversation. I know I speak for all of our staff when I say that we will miss him greatly.

Jocelyn Truong, Copy Editor

Although I have not been at The Lasso for very long, Joseph has made our student newspaper an incredibly welcoming environment. I’m glad to have had him as an advisor and as my first boss. The University of North Texas is lucky to have someone like him on their staff!

Stephanie Vo, Graphic Designer and Page Editor

For the past two years that I have worked at The Lasso, Joseph has been an extremely helpful and welcoming advisor. I have learned many things about publication and design because of him and I’m grateful for those experiences. I wish him the best in his new position!

Hannah Everett, Reporter

I have learned a lot from Joseph in the past eight months he has been my boss. He is kindhearted and is always willing to lend an ear when someone needs him. Thank you Joseph for all the advice you have given me and good luck with your future endeavors. I will miss your endless random facts you always seem to have.

Clarise Tujardon, Reporter

When I first started at The Lasso, I met Joseph in my second week of work and thought he was a cool guy because he was like a buddy to all of us as we navigated the world of journalism. He has helped me become a better writer and I hope the best for him as he moves onto the next step of his life. I will miss him greatly.
