I would recommend Rotten Mango, which is a true crime podcast that sheds light on a lot of international cases that are not as well-known.

I would recommend Zodiac! I think that it’s a really interesting movie and the fact that it occurred in real life leaves an unsettling feeling after watching it. Do be advised though, it might be a bit too much to watch if you are someone who doesn’t watch thriller/horror movies.

I would tell you to read “10 Days in a Madhouse” by Nellie Bly. Bly was a journalist who, in 1887, feigned insanity in order to be involuntarily committed into an asylum. Originally published as a series of articles, they were later turned into a book that exposed the horrors of asylums and led to a grand jury investigation and reforms for correctional facilities.
