Zera’s Shopping Extravaganza

Zera Coffee Company, a local coffee shop less than a mile from TWU, will host a silent auction to support their business Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Vendors at the auction will include big name companies like Mary Kay Cosmetics and local shops like The Mink Chair. Attendance for the event is free.

Christopher West, a manager at Zera Coffee Company, said: “This is the first time we’ve ever done this, and we think we’re going to start doing it quarterly.”

All proceeds from the upcoming auction will go to Zera Coffee Company, which works as a foundational support for The Denton Freedom House. The Denton Freedom House is a Christian ministry with the goal “to liberate broken men from their bondage of sin and addiction.” Employees at Zera Coffee Company are volunteers and residents from the Denton Freedom House.

The silent auction will be held at Zera Coffee Company on a normal business day. Zera Coffee Company sells a plethora of coffee drinks, teas, and café type foods and sees plenty of business from TWU students, including some who plan on attending the auction.

Junior Education major Erika Rath said: “I really like their environment and I really like what they’re doing with their business. It’s a cool opportunity for people trying to make a come-back in life and they’re very Christ centered. I think what they are doing is really cool, and I would go because anything to support them would be good.”
