TWU transitions classes online amid winter weather

Classes at the Dallas, Denton and Houston campuses will move online beginning Sunday amid hazardous weather conditions, campus officials announced Friday evening.

In-person classes and activities will transition online beginning Sunday night and remain virtual through Tuesday where possible, according to a weather alert posted on TWU’s website. A winter storm watch is in effect for Denton and Dallas counties late Saturday night through Monday afternoon, with 4 to 6 inches of snow and “near-blizzard conditions” possible, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Campus business operations will also transition online where possible, and only essential employees will be on campus. Most campus buildings, including the Blagg-Huey Library and Fitness & Recreation, will also be closed, according to the announcement.

Residence halls will remain open and dining service will be limited to brunch and dinner in the dining hall. Online classes will continue as scheduled.

Employees should consult their supervisors to determine work schedules.
