A Town That Runs Together Stays Together

It is no secret that staying physically active is the key to a healthy lifestyle, however there are some individuals who lack the motivation or the support required to maintain a recurring physical activity.

If you are looking to get started or simply add on to your physical activity, the Denton Area Running Club can be the answer you are looking for. Even if for just one day of the week, the DARC a great opportunity for those looking for a way to interact and work out with your community.

Founded in 2015, the DARC aims to bring runners of all abilities and experience levels together. Although they hold several long runs and other club events throughout the year, the main attraction for most Denton residents is the DARC’s Wednesday Night 5k Social Run; the group meets on the patio of Oak Street Draft House at 7:45 p.m. every Wednesday with the run starting at 8 p.m.

TWU student Edgar Cruz said, “DARC is a great way to be physically active while being socially active in the community.” Whether you are starting your physical fitness journey, simply bored, enjoy running or training for a marathon, the DARC offers opportunities for growth and support. If you have any questions or are interested in other events, you can visit the DARC website here.
