Student Organizations Council

The Student Organizations Council is an influential factor for the student life scene at TWU. Every organization chartered at TWU is a part of the SOC, and any student who is a part of a TWU organization is a member of the SOC.

The delegates of each student organization are part of the voting party of the SOC, so everyone is given a voice when it comes to what changes are made to student life on campus. There is a smaller group of officers that are selected from the existing student organization delegates. This selected group makes up the officer team, and their job is to lead the SOC.

The SOC decides what the Student Leadership Development Fund and the Student Organization Programming Fund is for the semester. Other responsibilities of the SOC include an annual registration of all student organizations, creation of new organizations and hosting student conferences to bring all the organizations together and offer support to all of them.

To create an organization, a draft of the constitution for the organization must be submitted, as well as officers to be named as the leaders of the organization.

There are two organization fairs held during the year to inform students of all the organizations that exist and help the current organizations recruit new members. There is one held each semester, and the fall fair has already been held in September, but for students who wish to see all the options there are for organizations, there will be another fair held during the spring semester in February. Be sure to make it out to that fair to see what TWU SOC has to offer to you.
