Movie Night at TWU Featuring Beauty and the Beast

Take a look at your calendar and mark off Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. because the Dallas Student Life is hosting a movie night for you. The feature film that will be playing is the newly adapted Beauty and Beast.

SGA Vice President Jaeden Wiseman said that the motive behind this free movie night is to “bring the students and faculty together to have an enjoyable night watching a movie.” Considering which movie will be playing, it will be an enjoyable night indeed. With a great cast such as Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast, we at the The Lasso cannot imagine your eyes ever leaving the screen.

The reasoning behind the movie choice, as Jaeden said, is to “use new family friendly movies in order to encourage students to bring their families and friends.” They want a movie that can be comfortable and enjoyable for a wide range of audience. Having a movie, like a horror, would obviously lessen the number of attendees.

You do not have to go this event alone, or even with another student from campus. Jaeden made it clear that any Texas Woman’s University student who wants to go can bring their family or friends with them. As much as they want this to be about watching a film, they also want this to be a social event where faculty staff, students, family and friends can mingle and interact.

The SGA of TWU “cultivate and leverage relationships with students, faculty, academic departments, student service departments, and community agencies.” Their goal is to inspire and promote further enhancements of student success, citizenship, collaborative relationships and sustainable programs and services.

SGA has a number of events coming up if you cannot make this one. Check their main site at https://www.twu.edu/student-life-dallas/, and scroll down until you reach their “Events” section.
