The regular soccer season is coming to an end with just two games left. Finishing the regular season 6-8-4, the Pioneers have fought hard all season and will be facing West Texas A&M University in the first game of the Lone Star Conference Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 22, the Pioneers took on West Texas A&M at the home field. The first goal was passed from Senior Chelsea Martin to Ward, making it her fifth goal of the season. Martin fought hard for her sixth goal of the season during the 23rd minute of the game. Running overtime at 2-2, the Pioneers took the lead and won 3-2. Third-year Lucero Chavez pushed hard for the winning goal, allowing TWU to come out on top. Celebrating Senior Night, Seniors Chelsea Martin and Jackie Bucey celebrated their last game on the TWU field with the big win.
The field will be renovated to build more housing for TWU students. In 2018, the Pioneers will be taking on the new on-campus field with pride.
