Drinking in Denton

It’s no lie that Denton is home to some pretty unique places to go after dark and catch a drink. However, if the crowded and loud bar isn’t your style check out some local brewhouses where you can easily walk to the bathroom and not have to wait in a line.

If you’re looking for a place with in house brewing that makes you feel like you’re part of the family, try Denton County Brewing Company off of East Mckinney Street. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. When looking at the menu it can be a little overwhelming because there are so many special beers available. The bartenders know their stuff though, and even have a game set up to where they can help you find the perfect beer for your taste buds. From the bar top, you can easily see where all the magic happens in the back, and if you ask nice enough, owner Seth Morgan might just give you a tour.

Eastside Drafthouse off of East Oak street has something for everyone, even for your four legged friend. Out on the patio, you and your pup can enjoy a drink together. For easy ordering, you can just give the bartender a number off the menu that way you don’t have to fumble with names of beers. At the door, you are greeted by a friendly face that will ask to see your ID, so if you are not of age, don’t even try to sneak into this one. The atmosphere is more lively than that of some Brew houses because it is closer to that of a regular bar, but with more wiggle room. One can easily move around without becoming stuck in a sweaty jungle of people. On a nice night, the patio is the best place to sit and sip on a cold one. There are heaters set out for those nights when it does get just a bit chilly.

A large patio with little fire places is the ideal place to catch up with friends and sip on an ice cold beer. Harvest House off of East Hickory street has a multitude of beer options, and the bartenders will lend you their professional beer skills in finding the right one for you. This warm large studio style bar has room for everyone. The live music is a great substitute for the usual loud DJ. Time can easily fly by in this fun bar.

Craft beer can be a little intimidating, but with the right people you’ll be sure to find the one that fits your taste, even if you’ve never been one to drink beer. Venture out of your comfort zone and check out these great places on a night out.
