Come One Come All: TWU’s “Pal”entine’s Day

Introducing “Pal”entine’s Day

Forget Valentine’s Day this time around because this year it’s all about “Pal”entine’s Day. It’s the time of the year when TWU students are getting ready to shower their loved ones with gifts, attention and affection. Whether you are single or in a relationship, there is no reason to not partake in the festivities that come with any holiday, and TWU’s Student Union is making it easy to get into the spirit with their “Pal”entine’s Day celebration.

What Is It?

“Pal”entine’s Day will feature a build-a-bear style event that will give individuals a chance to create a cuddly gift for themselves, a friend or a loved one; there will also be an opportunity to write cards.

For the card writing part of the event, the Student Union will be working with TWU’s Department of University Housing and Residence Life to offer a courier-type service for residential TWU students who attend “Pal”entine’s day, so students who live in TWU Housing can have their cards delivered to other residents.

Why Should You Go?

Precious Chukwuenye, the organizer of the event, encouraged everyone to attend the “Pal”entine’s day event and get involved in on-campus activities, in general. TWU Student Union staff member Nichole Lantis said the event “is a great way to meet new people, be creative and walk away with a gift for a loved one.”

When and Where?

“Pal”entine’s day will take place on Monday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Purple Lobby of the Student Union. This event is free and open to the public for as long as materials last, so people interested need to make sure to show up early and come prepared to have fun.
