Beer for All

First Friday Denton is a day for art-lovers and discount-lovers alike to rejoice in merriment on the square. Every first Friday of the month, local businesses, artists and musicians come together for a night of food, friends and beer. Most activities take place between the hours of 6 – 10 p.m., but there are some events that start earlier or continue later.

Stop by the Discover Denton Welcome Center first thing if you’d like to get day drunk. Over some smooth tunes, by Denton’s very own Stephanie Untch, you can enjoy free beer samples from the Bearded Monk. Even the owner of the Bearded Monk, Ben Esely, will be stopping by.

The Bearded Monk is, according to their official website, “Denton’s first, craft beer only, bottle pop shop and growler fill bar. The Bearded Monk is the place to have a beer or two while shopping for that perfect craft beer for your party or picnic.” The Bearded Monk is no stranger to First Friday Denton, so if the upcoming event will be your first go-around, hanging out at Bearded Monk would be a great place to start.

Other cool places like the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, the DIME Store and A Creative Art Studio will be hosting various events as well. Be sure to stop by Vintage Bleu and Circa 77 for extended shopping hours. To finish, 2016 Oktoberfest on Walnut will have you covered if you didn’t get enough beer from the Bearded Monk and you’d like some live music to end the night.
