creditTWU'sGotTalentThe TWU Campus Activities Board is holding open auditions in search of talented Pioneers to be featured in the second annual TWU’s Got Talent event. Auditions open on Feb. 26-27 starting at 10 a.m. on each day.

Talent is expressed and defined through many types and forms, and the CAB Stingers are setting out to find an assortment of talented individuals here on the Denton campus for the student body to enjoy.

CAB President Christian Sopoco encourages fellow pioneers to come forth and audition: “There are a lot of students with amazing talent that most people don’t even know.”

Sopoco added: “The overall purpose is to highlight TWU students. Everyone has a talent.”

From instruments to singing and dancing to magical acts, the individuality and uniqueness in the upcoming auditions will not fall short of TWU’s outstanding student community. Last year’s Got Talent show featured performances varying from singing, piano playing and large group dance numbers. Sopoco said: “Confidence is key. If you believe in yourself, the crowd will too.”

Taking a page from ABC’s top hit, America’s Got Talent book, the Stingers are eager to share the experiences of viewing spectacular types of talents, minus the buzzers and big red X’s used to kick a performer off the stage. When asked about his favorite AGT judge, Sopoco responded: “Simon Cowell, just because he knows talent when he sees it and he’s also pretty funny.”

Sign-ups are available by e-mailing the CAB Stingers at twucab@gmail.com. Prizes will be available to participatants, ranging from gift cards to dining dollars and much more.
