TWU Volleyball to attend tournament

In the last tournament of the season against A&M Commerce, TWU’s Volleyball team emerged victorious with a sweep, 26-24, 25-22 and 25-17. According to TWU Athletics, Senior Hillary Shaffer led the Pioneers with nine kills in her last regular game season. Junior Sara Oxford and Sophomore Briley Cole each had eight kills. In a TWU Athletics press release, Head Coach Shelly Barberee stated: “I am proud of the girls picking up a quick three-set win on the road.”

With the finish of the regular season TWU’s Volleyball team advances to their 13th straight LSC Championship Tournament. According to TWU Athletics, regular season champion Tarleton State will host the championship tournament, consisting of four first-round games and two semifinal games. As the third seed in the tournament, TWU will once again face Texas A&M Commerce in the opening game on Thursday at noon.
