TWU volleyball struggles in away-games

Over the weekend, TWU’s volleyball team played two out-of-town games, and it is ready for two more games here in Denton this next weekend. Last Friday, the team played against Western New Mexico in Silver City where it lost 2-3, ending its five-game winning streak. Although the team came into the game with high hopes, it just didn’t have quite enough momentum. Both teams reportedly struggled in offense and couldn’t maintain a lead throughout the game. Then, TWU played against UT Permian Basin in Odessa on Saturday at 2:30 where the team lost 2-3 again. Despite a second and third set that was strong, it struggled to get the lead and hold it.

“It happens on the road,” TWU head coach Jeff Huebner said on the recap. Hopefully, back in the home court the team can build its confidence back up.

The volleyball team will be playing Eastern New Mexico Friday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. and West Texas A&M Saturday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. here at Kitty Magee Arena. Support your team and come out to help cheer them on, and don’t forget to follow them on social media @twuvolleyball to keep up with stats and upcoming games.
