Robert S. Mueller III: The case against Russia

Who Is Robert S. Mueller III?

Robert Swan Mueller III is an American lawyer who is currently serving as special counsel in charge of conducting a “full and thorough investigation of the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election,” per the Office of the Deputy Attorney General. For most Americans, Mueller is an unknown individual who was all of a sudden thrust into the spotlight, but Mueller is known by those in American law and politics as a man with a rigid sense of right and wrong who does not align himself with a political party, confirmed CNN in a short bio-documentary.

John Pistole, a former FBI deputy director, said Mueller is “apolitical and follows the rule of law, and follows the evidence wherever it leads, regardless of political outcomes.” Garrett Graff, a Mueller biographer, also vouched for Mueller’s sense of duty when he pointed out of Mueller’s departure from the private sector in the 90s, which was fueled by Mueller’s inability to defend those who are obviously guilty, instead telling them, “It sounds like [they] should go to jail.”

Russia interferene within U.S. Presidential election

For weeks now, the Russian and Trump collusion story has been the subject of news highlight reels and the topic of conversations for many individuals. Some people are disgusted with the current administration’s ties to Russia, and other supporters on websites such as Reddit and Facebook say the Russia case is simply proof of the deep state agenda against President Trump; However, in what has been an interesting and long case, Mueller has made several breakthroughs that have led to charges being officially filed against some of President Trump’s former aides and advisers.

The case status as of late

According to Fox News, the list of individuals who have been charged as a result of Mueller’s case include former Trump campaign associates Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Richard Gates and George Papadopoulos. It’s important to note, however, that none of these individuals were charged with interfering in the election, but Mueller’s investigation into Russian ties uncovered other illegal activity, such as money laundering, tax fraud and evasion, obstruction of justice and the making of false statements to federal investigators;, Although the charges are not a result of election interference, it should be emphasized they are a result of ties to Russia.
