On Feb. 2 demolition of the Old Central Fire Station, located at 217 W. McKinney St, began.
According to the Denton Record Chronicle, Denton City Council members agreed to demolish the former fire station to make room for a parking lot. $525,000 was budgeted to build the new parking lot with 90 to 100 public parking spaces. The demolition of the fire station was expected to last two weeks.
The City of Denton website states the parking surface will be complete in the beginning of April in time for the upcoming festival season.
