New residence village coming fall 2019

As the current parking situation indicates, TWU has become home to an unprecedented number of students. To accommodate this rising enrollment, the Residential Village Project is coming to campus. This sophomore student housing community is projected to open in Fall 2019 and house well over 800 students. According to TWU Marketing & Communication, the university has selected Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions to execute the project.  Vice President of Student Life Dr. Monica Mendez-Grant shares her excitement about the Residential Village Project. “I believe this will allow TWU to make a bold statement about the direction TWU is going which includes allowing for more opportunities for student engagement and student involvement,” said Mendez-Grant in a statement for The Lasso

Mendez-Grant also shared, “I see our campus as the No. 1 choice for many students in the state of Texas.  Our demand for student housing is very strong and by addressing this housing project, TWU is only beginning to tap the demand for on-campus housing.”

The Residential Village Project will break ground at the existing location of the TWU soccer fields, which will be relocated. According to Multi-Housing News, the housing community will include a new residential dining area spanning roughly 30,000 square feet, as well as classrooms and a fitness center.
