Living in Denton gives students the opportunity to experience different types of foods, ranging from Mexican to Chinese. For years, Denton hasn’t had the best options for good seafood. Recently though, Denton has opened its heart to Shell Shack.
“Denton is so much fun. I’ve lived out here for so long, I just couldn’t wait to get out here,” Shell Shack owner Dallas Hale said.
Not only is the staff one big family, but you can actually taste the love and effort put into making the great food.
The options are endless at Shell Shack, and customization is big for this restaurant. While visiting, we were treated to an appetizer platter filled with crab stuffed tater tots, fried catfish and crawfish tails. When the food arrived, I wasn’t sure I would have room. There is a pretty good selection in what crab you want.
When you order the platters, everything comes served in a bag with the best seasoning added in. Luckily, the tables are lined with paper because it does get messy. After dinner, if your hands are covered in sauce like mine were, you can go to their special hand washing station. You put your hands in this machine, and they come out squeaky clean. It’s actual magic.
Shell Shack is also known for their carrot cake. What once was a homemade dish is now served to hundreds in store. Shell Shack should definitely be added to your list of restaurants to visit. With their amazing food, caring staff and comfort feel, you can’t go wrong here. An added bonus for college students is that you get a 10% discount when you bring your student ID.
Shell Shack is located at 2303 N Interstate 35 in Denton and is open every day from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
