“Emerging Stories” ArtsWalk scheduled for Thursday

The ArtsWalk will be held on Thurs. April 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The walk will take place from the TWU Library fountain, Redbud 204 to the DGL Dance Building. This event is always free for students, faculty, staff and the public.

The theme for this year’s ArtsWalk is “Emerging Stories.” There will be two interdisciplinary performance collaborations, according to the TWU ArtsWalk website. Ilanda Morgan, Assistant Professor of Dance and Noah Lelek, Assistant Professor of Theatre will work together to present a short community theater and dance performance. This performance will be performed through text and movement from the performers memories and personal stories.

Matthew Henle, Assistant Professor of Dance and Jana Perez will create a series of visual and kinetic art that will turn the Dance Building into an immersive gallery, according to the TWU ArtsWalk website.

Along with these collaborations, students and faculty from the dance, music, theater and visual arts department will perform in the walk. TWU has held Artswalk since 2007, during which the different departments in art, dance, drama and music collaborate together to perform and show off their artwork.
