Career expo offers job opportunities

Heather Hines, Reporter

Students in professional attire with resumes in hand wound through the Hubbard Hall southeast ball room, looking for promising job opportunities and stopping at tables with eager managers and recruiters. The Career Expo presented students with 20 different organizations looking to hire college students or offer internships to them. The event was held Oct. 21.

Assistant Director of Career Services Sherri Williams referred to the event as “a great opportunity for [students] to learn about employment and internship opportunities, as well as network with potential employers.”

Students were able to speak directly with employers and complete applications on the spot, for businesses in and outside of the community.

This career expo was the second of three job fairs held by TWU to help students. The first event was the Part Time Job Fair held on Aug. 26, and the third event was held on TWU’s Houston campus, the Health Professional Career Fair for students seeking employment in the health care field, on Oct. 26.
