Boo at the U is back

Boo at the U is back for its annual fall festival full of treats, eats, and tons of fun. Noted on TWU’s traditions page as one of the holidays the university celebrates yearly, Boo at the U is not an event students should miss.

Over 3000 children attend yearly to show off their costumes and collect candy. Located on the corner of Bell and Administration Drive on TWU’s Denton campus, the party begins at 5 pm on Thursday, Oct. 18 and lasts until 8 pm.

Although admission is free to the public, attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good item to support the TWU Food Pantry. As always, the event will feature trunk-or-treating opportunities in the parking lot across from the Student Union Building, a haunted house in the Student Union, local food trucks, food from Chik-Fil-A, bounce houses and even a train. There will also be photo opportunities, face painting, games and prizes.

For the first time ever, Boo at the U is holding a Pup Parade set to begin at 6:30 for guests who want to bring their well-behaved dogs. All dogs on campus must be on a leash at all times and have a collar with updated tags, as well as maintain a calm demeanor when around children and other dogs.

Guests will also have the opportunity (while supplies last) to Build-a-Buddy. They will get to stuff an 18” plush Oakley, TWU’s newly named mascot, and receive a birth certificate and special Boo at the U t-shirt for their new friend.

Parking is available from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. in any “All Decal” designated lots, marked with a black painted curb. For additional information, call 940-898-3641.
